Why is the sell-side paying for this service?

Following the acquisition of PLIA by Urvin.Compliance, there has been a re-investment in the platform in order to become a utility solution for both buy-side and sell-side use cases.  For the sell-side specifically, additional functionality will be added at their request that will further streamline the questionnaire response process. Additionally, we will be reducing the 1,000+ questions in the database and better categorizing and standardizing them to fit buy-side needs.

 

What kind of features do you offer to the sell-side?

Our platform has many features designed to integrate into a sell-side compliance workflow. We also offer functionality for more efficiently and effectively managing the questionnaire process across all your clients. Finally, you can use our platform to simplify and centralize most all compliance interactions with your clients.  We are encouraging sell-side users of PLIA to request membership to one of our regional advisory boards.

 

Is your platform GDPR compliant?

Yes, we have adhered to all guidance in building our platform to be GDPR compliant. While most of GDPR doesn’t apply to PLIA, as we do not have Personally Identifiable Information (PII), we have still sought to implement the system in compliance with GDPR. In addition, for European clients our servers are hosted in Europe. 

Are there trial periods?

We do offer a 14 trial period for broker-dealers, however, you can not send responses to clients without a fully paid license.  

 

How are you capturing feedback from the sell-side and what are the benefits?

We are building regional advisory boards that will include both buy-side and sell-side user groups. The advisory board will meet at least quarterly with more regular engagement as needed. Sell-side members of the advisory board will have input into features that will enhance the user experience and overall value of the platform. While we plan on keeping advisory board membership limited to facilitate more efficient feedback and discussion, we are happy to have conversations with individual firms to gather feedback and help us to prioritize new features. We will also be periodically surveying our user community for feedback and new ideas.

What is the cost of using PLIA?

The license fee is $6,000 per year, per region - the three regions are:  1. North America/South America, 2. Europe, UK, MENA, 3. Asia, Australia, New Zealand.

There is a global license available for $15,000 per year.  The license is for unlimited clients, unlimited questionnaires & data requests, and unlimited users in the licensed region. 

 

What happens if one of my buy-side clients wants to send a questionnaire for a region I am not currently licensed for?

You will receive the questionnaire as normal, however, you will need to purchase an additional region or a global plan as part of a renewed agreement in order to continue servicing clients in that new region(s).

 

If we purchase one region but add another region, how will that billing work?

We will pro-rate the current paid period and credit the balance towards a new one-year period with the new region.  For example, if you paid $6,000 for one region and you decide to add a second region after 8 months (two-thirds of a year) into the agreement, we will credit $2,000 (one-third of a year) into the new agreement.  So, there will be a new one-year agreement at that point for two regions, which costs $12,000 with payment due of $10,000 ($12,000 minus $2,000). If a global agreement was desired, the new payment due would be $13,000 ($15,000 minus $2,000)

 

Is there a discount for payment upfront for the one-year period?

The current price is for an annual subscription. We will offer a monthly payment plan for the annual subscription for an additional cost.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

  • ACH Payment

  • Wire Transfer - Wire instructions supplied upon request

  • Paper Check - Payments can be sent to Urvin LLC, 2234 N. Federal Highway #1135, Boca Raton, FL 33431.  Please be aware of the maximum two-week grace period when mailing paper checks.

If payment is not received within the two weeks of the due date, what happens to our account and data?

No responses to client questionnaires can be submitted back to clients until payment has been received.  Previously paid accounts that fall past due on renewal will no longer be able to send questionnaire responses or other data back to clients.  After one month of non-payment, all login credentials will be disabled. All data will remain in the Plia database and all historical responses can be accessed by active clients indefinitely.  Upon account reactivation, all historical information will be accessible.

I do not have a lot of buy-side clients who are using the PLIA platform yet. Can I get a discount?

We do not offer discounts, and in order to keep costs low, we can only offer a simple plan that allows for unlimited clients. We encourage you to ask your buyside clients to join the platform in order to increase the value to you and to them. We believe, however, you will find that many of your institutional clients are already on the PLIA platform, as many of the largest advisors in the world are clients, or are in the process of being onboarded.

I do not plan on having many internal users of the PLIA platform. Can I get a discount?

We do not offer discounts, and in order to keep costs low we can only offer a simple plan that allows for unlimited accounts. We encourage you to take advantage of all the features our platform has to offer.

I need more information on your security practices before I can give you any financial information.

We use Stripe as our credit card and ACH processor. You can find all the information you need on their site. Our servers never see any of your financial information, it is all sent encrypted to Stripe.

If I am currently using PLIA and actively responding to a client questionnaire, is there a grace period before I need to pay?

You will have the opportunity to complete your existing questionnaires and data requests, however, if there has been no effort to formalize a yearly license, access to PLIA will be revoked.

There is no additional cost to add questions.  We are in the process of adding functionality that will allow you to add new questions yourself without interaction with PLIA.

We offer questionnaire and best execution consulting for an additional cost.  We have full a list of services available upon request.
